Steve “Silk” Hurley

Steve “Silk” Hurley is a producer, songwriter and DJ, nominated four times for the GRAMMY as Best Remixer. He started his DJ career very young and he is therefore considered a “pioneer” of the Chicago House music. He has created numerous hit along with RCA, London and Atlantic Records. He worked and collaborated with hundreds of artists including Prince, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, R. Kelly and Mary J. Blige. Although he has achieved great success as a producer, selling millions of records, Silk considering a DJ at the roots. Since 1994 he takes part in the Tom Joyner Morning Show, morning program that records more than 8 million plays. Currently he is focusing on the production of the album of his nineteen year old daughter B. Laurén, whose first single was released in 2010.
