At the age of 14, the ‘Man in Black’ started experimenting with turntables in his garage and playing at parties, which soon became must see events as his reputation spread across Rome and he turned from a simple DJ into producing real spectacles that gained a great reputation within the nightlife of Rome.

Cerruti rapidly made a profession out of his talent and at the age of nineteen he started a career as a Record Label Producer and founded his first independent label: Tools Records.



Simultaneously working with the Roman Radio Company as a DJ and music programmer while consulting for Major record companies and several other national radio stations. In 1998 his passion for technology saw him become listed as one of the most quoted consultants in the computer music production in the Pro Tools workstations produced by Digidesig, within the division referred to as Avid. This brought him into contact with many Italian and foreign artists, as well as production companies in the cinema and television world, where he worked with artists such as BlueVertigo, Giorgia, Pino Daniele and Max Gazzè, and on post production for the television shows “District Police “, ” Big Brother “, ” Operation Triumph ” and ” A Doctor in the Family “. After receiving multiple awards in this area, Cerruti was asked to become a Professor at the prestigious SNC (National Film School) in Rome teaching the techniques of sound design and the use of Pro Tools system. In 2003 he created his second record label, Just Entertainment: Considered an art studio where the producer works to fuse and confuse the different types of music in order to find something unique and new in the independent music business. Initially focused only on Dance Music, since 2005 also embraced the world of Pop and R&B. In 2005 Cerruti won another Italian award for a compilation of DJ partner and friend Claudio Coccolutos’ work. This remained No.1 on the Italian and UK Dance Charts for over 4 weeks. Just Entertainment also received in this same year a nomination at the WMC in Miami for the production of “Du what u du” a production signed the prior year with the artist Yoshimoto and DJ Andy Caldwell. This CD still remains the single Electronic bestseller in Italy as well as being a hit throughout Europe. The following year he gained another award as DJ Producer and A&R as “The Creeps” by Camille Jones vs Fedde Le Grand soared to the top of the UK charts and remained number 1 in the Dance Charts for over 6 weeks. In this case Just Entertainment received a Gold Record as over 100,000 copies were sold. One of his most irreverent compilations is “Sexy”, consisting of tracks censored in the early 80’s that he himself selected and mixed specifically to confront the image of Rocco Siffredi. The compilation proved a great success both in terms of sales and media coverage. In 2009 he started a new venture in publishing and producing, alongside Federico Moccia and Rizzoli / RCS, patenting the idea of a new version of the bestseller “Scusa Ma ti Chiamo Amore” (Excuse me but I call u My Love) in a PlayStory format. Over the years the character Sergio Cerruti has cultivated his custom style, charm and appeal creating trends that lead to opportunities like being chosen as the Brand Ambassador for Land Rover (2010) in the project “Pulse of the City” for the launch of the new car ” Range Rover Evoque “, alongside other international spokespeople.
Since January 2011 Cerruti has been on-air on “Radio 105” as a regular guest behind the decks of the historic program “InDaKlubb”, dedicated to club music. Producing allows him to play with his style; personal, simple and universal all at the same time. His passion is a powerful spring that drives him towards new challenges and new goals. Mischievous and irreverent, ironic and edgy, eclectic and self-centered, Sergio never loses an opportunity to enter the minds of those who follow him, using style, reinterpretation and different combinations to take audiences on a musical journey…
