Vini Vici have been in great form on the release front recently, and now they’re back with their latest single on their label Alteza Records, “Galaxy“, this time drafting in Trance master Paul van Dyk for a pumping, melodic affair that is set to be heard across both the psy-trance and trance scenes for months to come, and has already been getting impressive support from the biggest DJ’s in these fields. A teaming up of two acts both at the top of their respective scenes was always going to result in an anthem, and “Galaxy” doesn’t disappoint.
The track begins with oldschool rave vocals which sound like they were transmitted from outer space, instantly setting the tone for the otherworldly sounds to follow. Vintage synths are added in the early stages as well, sparkling in the form of a lead and pad that display both acts’ musicality perfectly. The drums are complemented by a psy-trance off-beat, rolling bassline that drives the track, interspersed with snare rolls, electronic licks and modular elements. The synths open up in the main breakdown to build to an anthemic crescendo, as the vocal returns, counting down from 10 and getting dance floors ready for the main drop, which switches up, taking a harder stance with short vocal samples that add to the percussive nature of the track, displaying an ever-evolving dynamism that cements the track as a standout.
