Establishing itself as one of the labels at the crest of the electronic music scene, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s record label, Smash The House, became a platform which span DJ’s into global success. Working with the likes of Hardwell, Diplo and Blasterjaxx to name only a few of the prominent figures in the scene, the label boasts an impressive roster of artists and holds important status within dance music, so it only made sense to launch a sub-label for talented emerging artists, Generation Smash.
Unleashing his upcoming single on the sub-label, Belgian-born Merlo has certainly made his mark on the imprint with latest track, “Prove It“. Opening up with a crackling and muted melody, the crisp and soulful male vocals are then introduced and are accompanied by a classic pop guitar sound. It’s not long before a juxtaposition of soft female vocals is then brought to the forefront of the track, alongside a more electronic approach to the melody. Plunging into a wave of a soothing tropical house beat for the chorus, the track has all the characteristics of a summer pop-chart hit.
Through Generation Smash, artists like Merlo are given a gateway to rise through the ranks of the industry through an established and globally recognised label. Receiving advice from the Smash The House team, their knowledge, experience and ability is second to none for emerging artists.
