Embarking upon their next release with Smash the House, MATTN, Klaas & Roland Clark have taken on their own updated spin on Robert Miles’ 1996 trance favourite, “Children“.
Relatively new to Smash the House, MATTN joins some of the biggest names in the business as the labels first female artist.
Appearing alongside Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Afrojack, Axwell & Ingrosso and Steve Angello on the artist roster, the horizon is promising for MATTN.
The familiar melody of the original opens the track, before inspiring spoken word reverberates throughout. On the lead up to the drop, deep repetitive wails of “Follow Me” encapsulate the track, before it plunges into arena-worthy upbeat synth stabs. By taking on such a well-known classic trance anthem, the three have given it a new lease of life over 20 years after the original release.
Klaas, who also appears on the track, has an impressive arsenal of remixes behind him too, working with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Armand Van Helden and Erick Morillo in the past.
Meanwhile, Roland Clark too has an impressive biography, with his vocals appearing on Armand Van Helden’s ‘Flowerz’ and amongst Fatboy Slim’s tracks.
With MATTN, Klaas and Roland Clark playing a host of events and festivals across the world this year, “Children” will most certainly be imprinting its stamp on summer 2019.
