D’Angello & Francis are well-known names to fans of Smash the House, having released exclusively on the label, and they return once more with “Shake“, as the Belgian duo show Harry Apex the ropes for the burgeoning producer’s debut release on Smash The House.
“Shake” begins with a tribal beat, joined by a host of electronic elements which all pitch up and down, weaving through the track with intricate precision. The vocal, introduced in the first breakdown, instructs ravers to “shake their body”, as a raspy, gliding lead builds towards the first drop, which is guaranteed to get people shaking. A heavy kick drum drives the track along with the main hook, and a rising synth sits underneath. A stuttering stab maintains the intensity throughout and ensures that the track is primed for the club and festivals.
D’Angello & Francis have been building their name over the past couple of years, with consistently high-quality releases gaining attention from the likes of label heads Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, W&W and Bassjackers, and “Shake” is on course to increase that growing number of admirers, while placing Harry Apex’s name firmly on the map.
