Sam Halaby, AKA ABSOLUTE, was born and grew up in Edmonton (Canada) from a Libyan-Canadian family. Like the majority of Canadian boys, his dream was to become a NHL player. Beginning as a hockey’s player, he then moved towards a musician career.

As a matter of fact, in his early age he started developing strong wringing skills.

Due to a car accident, his hockey career stopped, and he started working at his family restaurant. ABSOLUTE was obsessed by the music industry for years. One night, after closing the restaurant, he tried to find a solution to make his dreams come true. The day after he booked a studio. On February 2010, he started working on all his songs in a studio.

He published on social networks his first studio session and the result was impressive. He started gaining more and more popularity not only in his native city. On July 2010, his popularity gave him the chance of having a record deal from a famous Canadian independent label. ABSOLUTE preferred not to compromise his music, so together with his cousin “NIZ”, he joined the record label TWELVE.5 RECORDS.

After founding his label, ABSOLUTE moved to Vancouver next to the producer (winner of a Grammy Award) CHIN INJETI (DR.DRE, DRAKE, PINK, EMINEM and 50 CENT) with whom he produced 4 new tracks. “Party in Paradise”, in collaboration with Craig Smart, has been released with Universal Music Group/INgrooves Fontana. The song reached the sixth position in the USA top 100 DRT HIP HOP CHART. ABSOLUTE’S music is inspired by artists such as: Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G., Snoop Dogg, DMX, Kurupt, Jay Z, Nas, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Kanye West, but also Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Metallica. All these genres have been fundamental for the development of ABSOLUTE’s unique sound.

Over the years, ABSOLUTE collaborated with artists such as KURUPT (multi-platinum, Grammy Award nominee), BEENIE MAN (winner of a Grammy Award), TROY SAMSON (Hit Maker, multi-nominated at the JUNO, he worked with Snoop Dogg Kelly Rowland, Hedley, CRAIG SMART (#1 hits author and international artist), OVIDIU BISTRICEANU ‘OVI’ (he worked with Massari, Mia Martinez).
